6 Cups

How to Play 6 Cups

Super simple dice game, great for a big or small group.  If a cup is empty, fill it.  If a cup is full?  Drink it!

What You Need

  • 6 Cups.  Anything that can be drank and refilled.
  • One Die.  That’s half of a pair of Dice.
  • Beverage of Choice, usually Beer.
  • 3+ Players

Fill it or Drink It

Start by labeling six cups with numbers 1 through 6.  The first Player rolls the die, then fills the corresponding cup (roll a 3, fill the 3 cup).  Next the second Player rolls the die.  If an empty cup number is rolled, that cup should be filled.  If an already filled cup is rolled, the Player drinks the cup, but does not refill it. Each Player must roll until they fill a cup, then the turn moves to the next Player.  Using the previous example, if a 3 is rolled, the Player drinks the 3 cup, then rolls again.  If an empty cup is rolled, the Player fills it and the turn moves on.  If a 5 is rolled, the 5 cup is filled and the turn moves to the next Player.

Each turn will result in a cup being filled, but not every turn results in a cup being drank.  A Player will continue to roll until they fill a cup.  Cups can be filled with as much or as little as a Player chooses.

Cup Actions
  • Empty Cup = Fill as much as desired.
  • Full Cup = Drink, then roll again.
