Team Chug

Doing a Team Chug

Teams race to finish a gallon jug of beer, passing the jug down the line.

What You Need

  • 2 Teams of People, usually an even number on each team
  • 2 Gallon Jugs, filled with Beer

How to do a Team Chug

Teams line up across from each other.  A judge or referee calls for the race to start.  The Lead Drinkers begin to chug.  When they can’t drink anymore, they pass the jug to the next person in line.  The Second Drinker does the same, drinking as much as possible, as quickly as possible.  The jug goes down the line until it is gone.  The first team to finish their jug wins!

Decide before the race whether Drinkers will be able to drink only once or multiple times.  The stragey for lining up your team will change based on this rule.  If you don’t allow repeats, you’ll need a quality Anchor Drinker at the end of the line to finish any beer that is left.  If you’re allowing multiple passes, you’ll want your better drinkers leading the pack.

Anchor Man is an alternate team chug game where the teams get to pick the last Drinker of the other team.  That Drinker is tasked with finishing whatever is left in the jug.

Spilling is cheating.  Decide before the race what the penalties will be for excessive spilling.

This is a great game if you have a keg for filling the jugs.
