The Vegetable Game

How to Play the Vegetable Game

Each Player picks a vegetable name for themselves.  Players call out other players by saying first their name, then the name of the person they’re calling on.  The catch?  Nobody can show their teeth!  With a big enough, or maybe drunk enough group, this game is hilarious.

What You Need

  • A Big Group.  5+, the more the better.
  • Beverage of Choice

Playing the Veggie Game

Get all the players rounded up in a circle.  Inform the group that from this point on, nobody can show their teeth.  Anytime a Player shows teeth, that Player must drink.

Next, go around the circle, each Player calling out their Vegetable Name for the other Players.  Once everybody has announced their name, the game begins.

The first Player will call out his own name, then say the name of another Player.  An example would be, “Rutabaga… Cauliflower!”  Then whoever is called upon says their own name, then the name of another Player.  Example: “Cauliflower, Carrot!”  The game continues in this manner until a Player messes up, either by showing teeth, forgetting other Players’ names, or by not being able to say their name, then another name.

The Vegetable Game is a great one for really late nights, or campfire parties.  It helps if the group is already pretty lit, but also works okay as an ice breaker.  No equipment is needed, and it’s a slower drinking game.  Great for passing time.
